Zakat al-Fitr

A separated, season-bound fund disbursed before the Eid prayer and never pooled with others.

Zakat al-Fitr is due from a Muslim for themselves and their dependants, and is given as food before the Eid prayer. Its fund therefore opens with Ramadan and closes before Eid, and accepts no donation outside that window.

A balance left in the Fitr fund after Eid is a religious failure before it is an accounting one. The charity console therefore shows the remaining balance and the days left in the window continuously through the season.
